Follow steps below to build your second LAN (eg: LAN2)with Mettle SE:

  1. Go to System >> Interfaces >> Interface Assignments to assign a new interface for second LAN.
  2. The available interfaces would be listed in this page and would be named by default as OPT
  3. Edit the available OPT interface by getting into the edit mode.
  4. Rename the interface for example as LAN2.
  5. You should assign an IP address from a different private Network range for the LAN2 interface with the correct subnet mask.
  6. Go to LAN Services >> Basic LAN DHCP Server
  7. Configure and start DHCP server on LAN2 interface if DHCP service is required.
  8. It is recommended to use a different switch for your second LAN. Or use a Layer 3 switch with VLAN support to run different LANs in same switch.
  9. Go to LAN Services >> Proxy Server and instruct the proxy service to listen on the new LAN interface.
  10. Go to Security >> Firewall >> LAN2 and create the rule to allow the traffic through the interface.
  11. Go to Routing >> NAT >> Outbound and create the outbound NAT entry for the second LAN.
  12. You can have as many separate LANs as the number of interfaces on Mettle SE allow you to have.
